When Tarini grows up and asks me which saree to wear to her first job interview, I want her to have a brand that answers clearly, honestly, and without making her feel like she needs to already know everything about silk and weaves and GSM before she’s allowed to buy one.

That is what TARINÉ is. A brand built for the woman who loves her culture but lives a modern life. The woman who wants to wear a saree on a Tuesday afternoon, not just at weddings. The woman who does not own a dry-cleaning subscription and does not want one.

01

Sorted by occasion

Six collections. Every saree categorised by when you will actually wear it — not by fabric or price.

02

No polyester. Ever.

Cotton, linen, silk, Tencel, Modal. If it needs dry cleaning, it doesn’t make the cut.

03

Full cost breakdown

Fabric, packaging, logistics, GST, and our margin — all visible on every product page before you buy.

A word on price

We show our full cost breakdown on every product page. Fabric cost, packaging, logistics, payment gateway fee, GST, and our margin — all of it, visible to you before you buy. We think that is just honest. And honest brands are rarer than they should be.

Who makes our sarees

We source fabrics from craft clusters across India — Chanderi, Bhagalpur, Kota, Maheshwar, Erode. We do not manufacture everything in-house, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we do is curate carefully: every fabric is tested for drapeability, wash care, and maintenance before it makes it into our catalogue. If it needs to be dry-cleaned, it does not make the cut.

The name

“Tarini means ‘one who takes across’ — from the Sanskrit root that also gives us the word for boat.”

She is the one who carries you over. I thought that was right for a brand trying to make sarees feel like home, not like a test you have to pass first.

I am building this so that when she is old enough to need it, it is ready for her.

And in the meantime, I hope it is useful to every woman looking for the same thing she will one day look for — a saree brand that respects her intelligence, her time, and her money.
