- Wash: Machine wash cold (30°C) on a gentle cycle. Or hand wash — cotton is not precious about this.
- Dry: Hang in the shade or lay flat. Not the tumble dryer.
- Iron: Medium heat while slightly damp. Cotton responds beautifully to a warm iron.
- Store: Fold along the pleats. Wrap in a cotton bag or muslin — it breathes better than plastic.
- Wash: Machine wash gentle at 30°C. Linen is tougher than its reputation.
- Dry: Hang in shade. It dries quickly. No tumble dryer.
- Iron: Medium-high heat while the fabric is still damp. Dry ironing dry linen does very little.
- Store: Fold loosely. Linen does not like being compressed tightly.
- Wash: Hand wash in cold water with a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Gentle — no soaking, no wringing.
- Dry: Lay flat on a clean towel. Reshape while damp. Silk left hanging can stretch unevenly.
- Iron: Reverse side only. Low-silk setting. A cotton pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric.
- Store: Fold along the natural grain and wrap in soft cotton or muslin. Plastic bags trap moisture.
- Wash: Machine wash gentle at 30°C.
- Dry: Hang in shade. Both dry quickly.
- Iron: Low setting while slightly damp. They respond well and quickly.
- Store: Fold normally. These fabrics do not crease badly.
- Wash: Gentle hand wash in cold water, or a delicate machine cycle at 30°C.
- Dry: Lay flat. Viscose can stretch when wet and heavy — hanging it can pull the shape out.
- Iron: Low heat on the reverse side while slightly damp.
- Store: Fold and store flat. Avoid hanging for long periods.
- Wash: Hand wash in cold water with a mild, pH-neutral detergent.
- Dry: Lay flat on a towel in the shade. Do not wring.
- Iron: Reverse side, low setting. Use a pressing cloth if the saree has embroidery.
- Store: Fold along the pleats and wrap in muslin.
- No bleach. No tumble dryer. Ever.
- Iron silk and embroidered sarees on the reverse side only.
- Store in cotton or muslin — not sealed plastic.
- If a saree feels stiff after washing, a light iron while still damp brings it back.
